It also makes sense to calculate expected goals for a specific fixture \u2013 adjusted for the opponent\u2019s class. Schedule, travel, and squad news should be treated as adjusting factors, not the main drivers of a forecast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A mathematical model never &#8220;knows&#8221; who\u2019s going to win. It simply calculates probabilities honestly, in places where intuition substitutes for emotion and the memory of a few bright moments. An analyst\u2019s edge over a fan isn\u2019t built on inside information or luck.
